Switches

This is in the "are you nuts?!" category. Yes, I removed all the original turnsignal and horn switches, tore into the switch covers, cut, drilled, and generally savaged BMW's nice engineering. I just couldn't stand a sportbike with the right turnsignal and cancel switches on the throttle grip side.

You cannot see it very clearly, but the turnsignal switch is a marine, (salt)waterproof DPDT switch. Operation is light, positive, and easy with any gloves and in any hand position (clutching or not). Rerouting wires is very time consuming, as is installing the relay and wiring that disable the turnsignal cancelling system.Email me if you want to know more. Dollar cost is under $30, but the whole process it time consuming. Since you have to remove the same stuff as when you install the heated grips, you may want to do both at the same time.

The horn switch is also hard to see, but it's right under the headlight switch. It's a little paddle horn switch taken off a Kawasaki Concours. Unlike the OEM horn switch, it's right there where I want it. Works for me... home
