I believe in being seen, so immediately installed Run'n'lites in the rear turnsignal housings and Hyper-Lites on either sides of the license plate. Run'n'lites turn the rear turnsignals into running lights and, of course, continue to function as turnsignals. Hyper-Lites flash rapidly when you put on the brakes - in addition to the stock brake light. I then decided that the huge rear mudguard needed to go, so I carefully cut it away with a carpet cutter. I then installed a red LED bar, purchased from JC Whitney, to replace the reflector bar that went the way of the mudflap.
Finally, I removed each rear side reflector, removed the red plastic lens, fit a JC Whitney red LED bar (cut in half and resoldered) inside the cavity, and reglued the red plastic lens.
The result is a bright red rear end, visible from just about any angle. I will do to the front amber side reflectors what I did to the rear set when I get a chance. home
